We are open for our weekday 4pm onwards and Saturday daytime sessions in all school holidays and bank holidays, except for over Christmas.
This includes recreational and squad gymnastics, conditioning classes, circus and freestyle sessions.
Our parent and toddler and preschool gymnastics sessions are term time only, because during school holidays we have a mix of holiday clubs and gym camps and 1-2-1’s running during the daytime.
Over Christmas, we close for two weeks and the exact dates for this are published in advance.
Generally, our office is manned from 12.30-8pm Monday-Thursday, 4-8pm Friday and 9am-1pm Saturday although this can be subject to change due to the dynamic nature of our business.
Our office phone number is 07932247365

Please ensure that your child has water rather than juice to prevent sticky spills. Your child should always bring a full, named, reusable water bottle to their session and we will be happy to provide them with a refill if they drink it all.
We try to maintain a food free environment inside the gym for hygiene and allergen purposes. Unless your child is doing an extended session or holiday club, they will not require a snack during their session.
If your child is coming to a long session, a snack break will be accommodated however it is essential that no food sharing is allowed due to allergies. Please be mindful of allergies and do not pack any snacks containing nuts for your child.
If your child is attending back to back sessions, for example a Monday class, then staying for freestyle afterwards, you can supervise them having a snack break between sessions in the parent viewing area. Our coaches do not supervise snack breaks in this instance.
We do not allow chewing gum or energy drinks in the gym.
Recreational gymnastics
A recreational session starts with a 15 minute group warm up. This includes a cardio segment and a full body stretch. The cardio section will sometimes involve a game or dance.
Your child will then have a quick drink break and be organised into their coaching groups. These are split by age and ability, as much as is practicable.
With their coach, your child will complete either 15 or 20 minute rotations on different pieces of equipment including the floor, tumble track, bars, junior gym, beams, trampette, vault and our conditioning area. We carefully plan rotations to allow gymnasts to use different pieces of equipment on different weeks. If your child has repeated their rotation, it could be because of an unexpected adjustment due to staff absence or sometimes if we have low attendance numbers in school holidays or bank holidays, groups will join together.
At the end of the session, the group will join together for a short cool down and then collect drinks and shoes to exit the gym.
If your child cannot go to the toilet unaided, please ensure that you stay in the parent viewing area to help them.
Circus
Our circus sessions include a slightly shorter warm up, usually 10-15 minutes. Once the students are warmed up they will commonly complete three conditioning exercises on the equipment. They will then move on to circus skills, dependent on their level.
Sessions are planned to incorporate hoop, silks, trapeze, sling and rope. A combination of class preference and ability will be taken into account to plan equipment rotations and most sessions will involve one piece of equipment, but sometimes a split class will be planned to include two options.
Circus students do not have set drinks breaks, but can have a drink as appropriate for their needs.
At the end of the session, a stretch of the neck and shoulder area is completed before the students are dismissed.
Preschool gymnastics
A preschool session starts with a game or song, often the walking song. We then have our pre-school warm up which is approximately 20 minutes and includes movements to improve mobility, balance and strength and prepare the gymnasts for skills that they will learn as they grow older. We use a holistic approach so this may include for example colour, number and animal games.
Whilst we understand that there can be a transition period where your child wants you to be with them, in general parents are discouraged from sitting in the gym and are encouraged to watch from the parent viewing area. Our coaches are experienced and have helped to settle many preschoolers. Most of our preschool team are parents themselves, so we do understand the ups and downs of the early years and appreciate that this can be difficult, but it is in the best interest of your child. If your child does not settle in a structured session, parent and toddler may be a better option for them.
Once the gymnasts have had a drink break, they will spend time on different pieces of equipment, much like a recreational class, stopping for a drink in between pieces.
At the end of the session, the group will join together for a short game or activity and then receive a sticker, before leaving to see their parents and caregivers.
If your child cannot go to the toilet unaided, please ensure that you stay in the parent viewing area to help them.
Parent and toddler, SEND and family freestyle
These sessions are based on a free-play format. Please ensure that your child is effectively warmed up and ready for the activities that you complete. You should supervise your child at all times during this session and can ask coaches for help if you have any questions. Please do not allow your child to run around the gym and make sure to follow our health and safety rules, as instructed by coaches.
You and your child should follow our wider guidelines including clothing and jewellery and keeping snacks to the parent viewing area only.
We like to keep our gymnasts with a regular coach however there are times that their coach or group will be moved. We are continually monitoring ability and behaviour which could impact their group.
Some of the many reasons for group moves include;
- Ability or age of the new group being more suitable
- A personality clash within the previous group
- Behavioural management
- Change of shift pattern or role for their previous coach
- Request for friends to stay together or be separated
- Accommodating or changing another group within the timeslot
We will always try to put your child’s interests first and a group move should not be seen as a negative thing. If you are concerned about a group move, please email us to discuss this further on admin@celebrategymnasticsclub.com
